Timolol 0.5% eye drop
Timolol 0.5% eye drops are a prescription beta-blocker used to lower raised eye pressure, mainly in glaucoma or ocular hypertension. A 0.5% solution contains about 5 mg timolol per mL.

Tell your doctor before using it if you have: Asthma, wheezing, or severe chronic lung disease. Slow heartbeat, heart block, heart failure, or fainting. Diabetes, thyroid disease, or poor circulation. A history of serious allergy or currently use oral beta-blockers, certain heart medicines, or other glaucoma drops. Although applied to the eye, timolol can sometimes cause systemic beta-blocker effects such as slow pulse, low blood pressure, breathing difficulty, dizziness, fatigue, or fainting. Seek urgent medical care for breathing difficulty, fainting, chest pain, or a markedly slow/irregular heartbeat.
Commonly: 1 drop in the affected eye once or twice daily, exactly as prescribed. Some product instructions recommend starting with 0.25% and increasing to 0.5% if the response is inadequate; do not change strength or frequency yourself. After instilling the drop, close your eye and gently press the inner corner near the nose for at least 2 minutes. This reduces absorption into the bloodstream.
How to apply=> Wash your hands and remove contact lenses. Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or skin. Instill only one drop. Close the eye and press the inner corner for at least 2 minutes. If using other eye drops, separate them by about 5–10 minutes. Wait at least 15 minutes before replacing contact lenses, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Do not stop timolol suddenly without medical advice, because eye pressure may rise again.
