Clindamycin belongs to lincomycin antibiotic class of drugs which are mainly used in the treatment of bacterial infections. Nicotinamide  is a dietary supplement which is also called as niacinamide. It is a amide of nicotinic acid.The drug produces its bacteriostatic effects by binding to the 50S unit of the rRNA of the bacteria. It inhibits the bacterial protein synthesis by stopping the translocation of the ribosomes.The drug is well distributed into tissue fluids, the metabolism of the drug is through liver. During metabolism the drug is converted to its active metabolite i.e sulfoxide and N-demethyl metabolites.
